Winslow Man Arrested On Warrant From 2012 Accident
A Winslow man was arrested early Wednesday morning on a warrant from an accident last June.
Gibson County Sheriff’s Department reports that 47 year old Tommy Biggs of Winslow was arrested on a warrant from an accident that took place in June 2012 on State Road 64 near Oakland City, IN.
The accident claimed the life of a Winslow woman, 40 year-old Amy K. Copley. Copley was killed when Biggs drove his 2004 Ford F-150 truck off State Road 64 near County Road 1275, just outside of Oakland City in June of 2012.
Police say Bigg’s truck left the highway, drove down the embankment, and hit a tree. Copley who wasn’t wearing a seat belt was partially thown from the truck and before becoming trapped. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Biggs was transported and treated at an Evansville Hospital. Police say that a drug and alcohol test showed his blood alcohol level was at .08 and there was evidence of marijuana, an anti-depressants, and painkillers in Bigg’s system.
Biggs is being held in the Gibson County Jail and is scheduled to be in court later today.
