(Washington, DC) — The use of drone aircraft to hunt and kill suspected terrorists, including U.S. citizens overseas, is being defended by the White House. In his Tuesday briefing, presidential spokesman Jay Carney called the practice legal, ethical and wise. Carney’s general comments came after reports of a leaked classified document, outlining the administration’s legal justification for killing American terror suspects overseas.
NBC News obtained the Justice Department document, which says it is legal to assassinate American citizens who are deemed to be a continuing threat to the U.S.
