Kara L. Westfall has been appointed to the position in the Student Activities Office at Vincennes University.
Westfall will coordinate and support the growth and development of student clubs and organizations as well as administer VU Student Volunteer Services, a program that encourages students to apply their academic knowledge to foster a positive campus community.
Westfall holds a bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Southern Indiana where she earned the H. Byron Hubbard Prize in Business Ethics. She is planning to complete a master’s degree in May in Student Affairs and Higher Education from Indiana State University.
Since 2011 she has served as a graduate assistant for programming and recruiting for ISU’s Center for Community Engagement. She has also served as an intern for USI’s Historic New Harmony. Westfall’s prior experience included serving as an intern for USI’s Center for Applied Research and a conference registrar for Continuing and Professional Education for Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.
A 2006 graduate of South Knox High School, Westfall was an honor student who started the first high school girls’ golf team in Knox County. She played golf at USI where she was named to the Academic All Great Lakes Conference Golf Team and the Academic All Scholar National Golf Coaches Association NCAA Division II.
