Vincennes Lincoln Pride of the Green prepares for its upcoming season

The Vincennes Lincoln Pride of the Green’s marching season is well underway.

Many of the band members and staff have been practicing music since the end of last school year and learning charts for the performance since early July.  This years show is titled “Unsettled” and features music by Phil Collins, The Legend of Sleepy Hollow and the theme to “Psycho”.

Mr. Bill Marsh speaks very highly of this years crop of marching band students by saying, “The kids are working really really hard, they are real disciplined, they’re really focused and I think thats going to pay off when we get to November.” Marsh seems extremely excited for the season and seems confident for the first contest on September 13.

Percussion Director, Mr. Garret Coffer, feels the band as a whole on the same page and “are eager to want to get better and pushing each other to get better”.  Coffer also exclaims that the, “vibe is a lot better this year than in years past.”

Mr. Coffer also spoke highly of his drum line and battery saying that, “they are up for the challenge and they are always wanting to play a lot harder music”, than the rest of the band.

This years marching season for The Pride of the Green looks to be a very promising year as they make their march to Lucas Oil Stadium for state finals competition.
