Two Car Accident Leaves Oakland City Crossing Guard Injured

Beloved crossing guard injured in wreck
Officer Mike Nichols was hit by a car Wednesday as he directed traffic after school.
Reports say Nichols was in the intersection of Franklin and Morton Streets around 3:00 p.m. when a driver did not stop and hit another car. That second car then hit Nichols, injuring him.
Officials say Nichols is in ICU with serious injuries.
A second individual was also injured in the accident and taken to the hospital. It is not clear if the second individual was a bystander or a passenger in one of the cars.
