Town of Monroe City Welcomes New Town Employee
“Martin Dreiman is going to be part-time labor, basically he will be water department, sewer department, town, all three. He will do mowing for both departments, he will check meters, fix leaks, and he’ll fill pot holes,” said Nancee Scott, Town Hall Clerk Treasurer. She added that there is just so much to do in the summer that Rick will need help and cannot do it alone.
“They mow around the water plant, sewage plant, water tower, behind the town hall. We mow a couple of ditches in town since they are in the right of way and count as city ditches. We only mow residents property if they have not mowed, they have been notified, like if we have a resident move out and the grass gets really tall, we notify them that it needs to be mowed. If they don’t mow it, we will and then that will go on their property taxes,” stated Scott.
A position has been open in the department for 5 months now. “He’s starting today,” said Scott. He will be trained by Rick. Dreiman worked in construction and laying water lines. Scott also said, “He is retired and was looking for some part-time work.”
