Summer School is Back in Session for Local School System

Summer School Looks To Be Back in Vincennes
The Vincennes Community School Board in their monthly session Announced that they plan to be holding summer school for students in first and third grades. Part of that is due to the legislations with I-read. Students in third grade must pass the I-Read test with a score of 446 or higher. Those who do not pass in the spring test for IREAD will retest during summer school. That test determines if a student will move on to 4th grade or stay in third..
The Board also is planning on giving the go ahead for summer school for the High School as well. Classes offered in the high school ranks include English Comp 9 and 10, Algebra 1, PE, and course remediation for those students who are behind on credits that would like to catch up. The remediation program is being offered through the online Alice Academy.
The school day for summer would be set from 7:30 am until 12:30 pm with a 20 minute brunch window. The summer session would last from late may through early July.
