A stormy night in Vincennes caused roof damage to a Vincennes University building as well as to a neighboring barber shop and vehicles in the area.

Around 11:30 PM, Vincennes Police were notified of a roof blown off of a building initially in the area of Second and Lyndale. Upon further investigation, it was the former Glass Specialty building next to Cutter’s Way bar. The roof was peeled off of the building , causing exterior and roof damage to Glenn’s Barber Shop.

According to by-standers on the scene, straight line winds in the area caused the damage to the roof, as well as 2 Duke Energy lines to be in the middle of the street.

Crews were on the scene cleaning up the debris and removing the live power lines from the street. Second street was opened back up to traffic shortly after 1 AM.

The former Glass Specialty building is being used by Vincennes University as a maintenance building. According to officials, damage was minimal inside the building.
