(Big Bear, CA) — More than a hundred officers are going door-to-door in mountain communities east of Los Angeles trying to find a suspected cop killer.
Former Los Angeles Police officer Christopher Dorner is accused of shooting three police officers, killing one, in Riverside and Corona early yesterday morning. He’s also suspected of murdering an Irvine couple last weekend.

A potential sighting of suspected cop killer Christopher Dorner in San Diego County is now being investigated as a possible hoax. Authorities swarmed a home near the Barona Indian Reservation in Lakeside before 10:30 p.m. Thursday after police received a cell phone tip that Dorner might be at the residence. Police say the caller changed his story about a suspicious person in the area several times, and an investigation didn’t turn up Dorner. Authorities now say the call may have been a hoax. Dorner has been traced to the San Diego area in recent days.
