(New York, NY) – The U.S. State Department has put an end to an afternoon of confusion over whether Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has been released from a New York hospital. The agency now says she has been released after being treated for a blood clot discovered in a vein between her brain and skull.
Earlier today, Reporters saw her leave New York-Presbyterian Hospital with her husband, former President Bill Clinton, and daughter Chelsea plus an aide.
The secretary fell more than a week ago and suffered a concussion. The blood clot was discovered Sunday during a follow up check by doctors and she was hospitalized immediately. She has reportedly been treated with anticoagulants.
Her medical team says Clinton is making good progress and is confident she’ll recover fully.
