Late night deal doesn’t please everyone

The U.S. House is in session and some House Republicans are crying foul over the fiscal cliff deal agreed upon in the Senate overnight. Texas Representative Louis Gohmert says the deal will hurt future generations.

Darrell Issa of California said the measure merely kicks the can down the road. The deal agreed upon by the Senate raises taxes for households making more than $450,000 a year and will only delay what’s necessary.

New York Democratic Representative Brian Higgins says Republicans are the ones who spend too much.

Pennsylvania Democratic Representative Chaka Fattah says the Senate bill had big support.

An agreement was inked just after midnight in the Senate and is now moving through the House of Representatives.
