(Washington, DC)  –  Some DC leaders felt that President Obama snubbed DC rights on Inauguration Day.

Despite displaying the “Taxation Without Representation” license plates on his limousine, the President did not mention the city or its call for statehood during his speech.  According to the “Examiner” that apparently bothered DC Mayor Vincent Gray, among others.

The mayor, who marched in the Inauguration parage with a placard calling for equal rights for DC, said it “would have been nice” if President Obama included the city in his remarks.

The mayor also reiterated his view that it would be “entirely appropriate” for the President to discuss the city during next month’s State of the Union message.
