(Washington, DC)  –  The Senate has narrowly passed its first federal budget in four years.  The Democrat-controled chamber staged an overnight vote and okayed the spending blueprint, 50-49.  four Democratic Senators facing re-election in 2014 joined all Senate Republicans in opposing the measure.  It seeks to raise nearly a trillion dollars in new tax revenues by closing some tax breaks for the wealthy.
