Senate Passes Budget For First Time In Four Years

(Washington, DC) – The Senate has narrowly passed its first federal budget in four years. The Democrat-controled chamber staged an overnight vote and okayed the spending blueprint, 50-49. four Democratic Senators facing re-election in 2014 joined all Senate Republicans in opposing the measure. It seeks to raise nearly a trillion dollars in new tax revenues by closing some tax breaks for the wealthy.
