FERGUSON, Mo. (AP) — Police say at least five people have been arrested in an area near St. Louis where authorities used tear gas and rubber bullets to try to disperse a crowd.
The city of Ferguson is where an unarmed black teen, Michael Brown, was fatally shot by police over the weekend. Looting and unrest had broken out Sunday following a vigil.
St. Louis County police spokesman Brian Schellman said there were at least five arrests Monday night. He said there were no reports of looting.
He said police using loudspeakers were urging people to go home.
Ferguson Police Chief Tom Jackson had said earlier that a group gathered throughout the day at a burned-out convenience store turned rowdy at nightfall. Schellman said that was the only significant incident.
