Petersburg Register Sex Offender Wears Sign On Courthouse Lawn

PCSD
A Petersburg man had to wear a sign on the Pike County Courthouse lawn today as part of a sentence for buying alcohol for a minor being a registered sex offender.
Pike County Prosectuor Darrin McDonald says that 27-year-old Larry T. Bass had to wear the sign on the sidewalk of the Courthouse today between noon and 1 p.m. EST.
He was convicted of child molesting in 2010 and served jail time of 7 years. In 2011, Bass was released early after an appeal in 2011.
Bass registered as a sex offender in Pike County and was arrested in September of 2012 and plead guilty of giving vodka to a 14 year old girl.
As part of his plea agreement sentence, the judge is making Bass walk around in front of the courthouse carrying a sign that reads “registered sex offender who bought alcohol for kids.”
Bass still has to serve a 820 day sentence in Vincennes at the Wabash Valley Work Release facility.
