Mother Nature claims Rivet Golf Invitational

VINCENNES – Most of the golfers got four holes in at the Rivet Golf Invitational before rain and storms called the event off for the day at the Country Club of Old Vincennes.

Play Started around 9:15 in the morning and by 10:30, rain was coming down hard at the golf course.

About 10:45, officials set off the air horns, calling the teams back to the Clubhouse to try to wait out the rain. Mother Nature dumped enough rain to make the putting greens unplayable, causing the event to be called.

No make up date had been announce. Vincennes Lincoln’s Girls Soccer match against Heritage Hills was also called due to the weather,
