Press Release:

On 4-1-14 the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a 14 year old missing juvenile.  Female juvenile failed to get off the school bus.  Officers were dispatched and interviewed last witnesses who had seen her and another juvenile male that she was last seen with after school.  Officers tried “pinging” the phones throughout the night but were unable to narrow down a precise location.

On 4-2-14 after pinging the phone again they were able  to narrow down a couple mile radius of their location.  Daviess County Emergency Management Director Paul Goss sent out a “CodeRed” alert through the CodeRed notification system.  This is a program the Daviess county citizens have though the Daviess County website and the City of Washington’s website.  Within two minutes 43 citizens received the call and one of those citizens had seen the two missing juveniles and reported to the Sheriff’s Office.  The two juveniles were then transported by Sheriff’s Deputies to the Sheriff’s Office.
