Men Posing as Members of the Fugitive Task Force case Petersburg Home

Wednesday, morning May 28th, around 8:30 a.m. three men in a tan colored van with Tennessee license plates claiming to be members of the fugitive task force entered a Petersburg residence and searched the residence.  Two of the men were wearing badges, 1 was in the back of the van wearing handcuffs.  The men stated they were looking for a Richard Smith.  They had a flyer with the name of Richard Smith and photo of him to show the resident.  However, they didn’t leave the flyer with her or give her a number to contact if she sees Mr. Smith.  An attempt to locate the van was unsuccessful.  If you encounter these subjects, please contact your local law enforcement agency.
