(Vincennes, Indiana) – A Washington man was arrested early this morning after he refused to leave an apartment in Maple Park.
Around 2 a.m. Tuesday morning, officers got the call to 113 Autumn Ridge Lane in reference to a man refusing to leave. When officers arrived, they found out that 22-year-old Nicholas L Christenberg, of Washington, had barricaded himself, a woman, and two children inside the apartment.
A press release from the Vincennes Police Department stated after officers made attempts to kick in the door with no success, they used a RAM tool to get the door opened. Shortly after the entry, officers had learned that Christenberg had barricaded himself in the back bedroom.
Officers forced that door open to the bedroom and found Christenberg under the bed.
Christenberg faces charges of domestic battery, strangulation, three counts of criminal confinement, resisting law enforcement and residential entry. He was booked into the Knox County Jail, where he is being held on $50,000 bond.
