Loogootee Teen Dies In Weekend Car Accident

A Loogottee teen dies in a Saturday evening fatal car accident near Alfordsville.

The Martin County Sheriff’s Department reports that at around 7:35 p.m. Saturday, a 911 call came in reporting an accident on County Road 650 S.

According to the police report, when officers arrived on the scene they found a 2005 Toyota carrying four people had crashed.

18 year-old Dirk Fahey, 19 year-old Colton Davis, and 20 year-old Corbin Wildman, all of Loogootee, were able to get out of the vehicle. The driver, 19 year-old Nathaniel Schuetz was trapped inside the car. He was pronounced dead at the scene by the Martin County Coroner.

Two victims were transported to area hospitals and one had been flown by Air Evac to an Evansville Hospital.

No other information was being released at this time.

Police say alcohol appears to be a factor and the investigation into the accident continues by the Martin County Sheriff’s Department.
