Light Night at Vincennes Urban Enterprise Zone Meeting

The Vincennes Urban Enterprise Zone Board had a light agenda for their Bi-Monthly meeting at Vincennes City Hall.
At the meeting, Shirley Rose updated the board on the progress on the Pocket Park. Rose mentioned that the park was still waiting on items from the state.
The Chuang Family went before the board to ask for help on renovations to the exterior of Marone’s on North Second Street. The family says that they plan on opening a new business later this year at the location. The family submitted estimates on the cost of the renovations. The board approved up for one half or $9,000 in renovations to the exterior of the building as long as the business is open by the end of 2013.
Finally, the board brought up pending legislature in the Indiana State House. House Bill 1354 provides credits against state sales and use tax for certain purchases made property owners in the UEZ, or a business owner in the UEZ . The location would be allowed to use the funds for redevelopment or rehabilitation of a house or business in the zone.
The board has set their next meeting for May 14th.
