(Undated) — Love him or hate him, Justin Bieber is making and breaking records.
The teen pop sensation just scored his fifth number one album with his latest release, “Believe Acoustic,” making him the first artist to have five number one albums before the age of 19. Bieber turns 19 on March 1st.
According to Billboard.com, “Believe Acoustic” sold 211-thousand copies in its first week of release and shot to number one on iTunes in more than 63 countries, including the U.S. The trade also notes the accomplishment makes Bieber just the tenth act to score a number one album in four consecutive years. Hip-hop star Jay-Z leads the “consecutive” chart feat with seven years. He’s followed by the Beatles with six years and Paul McCartney with five years.
Bieber’s gearing up for his turn on NBC’s “Saturday Night Live” this weekend where he will be pulling double duty as host and musical guest. The singer got back to his SNL rehearsals Wednesday after falling ill Tuesday while prepping for his appearance on the show in New York City.
He tweeted Wednesday morning that he may have had food poisoning before adding that he was feeling a little nervous but still excited.
