IL Attorney General: Strap Your Furniture Down

More than 23-thousand Illinois kids under the age of nine are injured each year from climbing on furniture and five have died since 2011.

Attorney General Lisa Madigan says there are several ways families can minimize the risks of furniture accidents.

She says parents should anchor all furniture to floors or walls, including couches, tables, and stoves.  TVs should be placed on sturdy stands with cords out of the reach of children.
