Governor Daniels’ Farewell Letter – Today is His Last Day
A poignant letter to his colleagues
Putting a bookend, of sorts, on his administration, Governor Mitch Daniels wrote a letter to his staff today (that would be all state employees) on what is essentially his last day at work as the Governor of Indiana.
Daniels referenced the letter which he wrote to his employees on his first day in office, back in 2004.
“We set out to achieve real results, and you did so. That’s not an opinion, it’s a provable fact. We say it with certainty because we have measured our performance in every way we could think of.”
When Daniels officially turns over the reigns of Indiana government next week to Governor-elect Pence, he will take on a new job. Daniels will become the President of Purdue University.
