(Mountain View, CA)  –  Google plans to sue the Internal Revenue Service over a tax bill.

The online search giant is planning litigation against the IRS over the company’s 2003 or 2004 tax report, though Google hasn’t gone into detail on what the dispute is about or the amount of money it reportedly owes.

The IRS has audited Google’s offshore deals in recent years, including in 2011 when Google avoided about two-billion dollars in taxes by shifting some ten-billion in revenue to a Bermuda subsidiary.

Such moves have come under the scrutiny of tax authorities around the globe, including France, Italy and Australia.
