Fire Crews At The Scene Of A New Construction Fire (Video)
Palmyra Township fire along with four sounding fire departments were called to a new construction cabin fire on Anson Road.
HTN has learned the home was owned by Mark and Marilyn Anson. According to witness on the scene, construction workers from Barna Log Homes was at the location at the time of the fire.
When fireman arrived there was smoke coming from the roof. Palmyra Township called for assistance from Vincennes Township, Harrison Township, and Steen Township. At one point, while fireman were working to get the fire out, you could see flames coming from the roof.
Shortly before 2:00 p.m. fire command requested a helicopter to the scene due to an injured fireman. According to witness on scene, the fireman fell through a floor and was injured. The medical helicopter declined due to low clouds. The fireman was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes by ambulance.
Both Vectren and Win-Energy was called to the scene. The cause of the fire is undetermined at this time as fireman remain on the scene.
