Facebook Unveils New Search Engine

(Menlo Park, CA) – Facebook is attempting to make it easier to search for people and places within the social network . CEO Mark Zuckerberg unveiled a new search engine that will allow users to search through content that has been shared with them. Zuckerberg says the “graph search” feature is in a “beta” version at the moment and will initially let users search through mostly pictures, people and places.
Eventually, people will be able to search to find out their friends’ favorite restaurants or preferred doctors. Facebook has taken criticism in the past over its search capabilities.
Zuckerberg says the new “graph search” will be helpful without getting into potential privacy issues.
