How would you like Hometown News Chief Meteorologist Kerry Dean & Meteorologist Chris Richardson to take over your lawn mowing duties? All you have to do is guess which day in June the thermometer will hit 100 degrees for the first time.

To enter, just email the date of your guess to

-If there are multiple guesses of the correct date, the winner will be picked randomly from the pool of correct entries.

-The 100 degree temperature must be recorded at Lawrenceville Airport.

-The winner’s yard must also be located in the Hometown News  coverage area (Knox, Daviess, Martin, Pike, Eastern Gibson, & Lawrence County, IL)

-The area to be cut must be 1 acre or less and must be in a safe condition.

-The cutting will happen at a date and time that is mutually agreeable to the property owner and Hometown News.
