ANDERSON, Ind. (AP) — Indianapolis has a plan for its open starting safety spot.
Delano Howell and 11-year NFL veteran Mike Adams are vying to win the job vacated by longtime stalwart Antoine Bethea, who left in free agency.
Howell has spent the last seven seasons as Andrew Luck’s teammate and has showed promise in his first two NFL seasons.
Adams has the kind of experience coaches like and wants to prove he can still play.
Together, the Colts think they have a winning combination, no matter who gets the job. And with the other starter, LaRon Landry, still trying to fight through a leg injury, both players could find themselves on the field.
