The Cleveland Browns fired head coach Pat Shurmur and general manager Tom Heckert on Monday.
Browns owner Jimmy Haslam says they aren’t concerned about there being several other head coaching vacancies in the NFL.
The moves come a day after the Browns finished in the cellar of the AFC North for the fourth time in five years. Cleveland lost three straight to end the season 5-and-11. That followed a 4-and-12 campaign in Shurmur’s first year in 2011. Heckert served as GM since 2010 and named Shurmur the replacement to Eric Mangini after the Browns posted back-to-back five-win seasons. Overall, the team went just 14-and-34 under Heckert’s watch.
