A local City is looking at ways to make it fair to businesses in the towing industry.

While at tonight’s Vincennes Board of Works meeting, the board approved Troy’s Towing 1 and Troy’s Towing 2 to be added to the list of towing services on the Police rotation list. The list currently had now currently has Troy’s Towing, Troy’s Towing 1, Troy’s Towing 2, Cockerham’s Towing, and Dave’s Wrecker. With that creation of 2 new entities, Troy’s Towing takes a 60% rotation of the City’s towing.

At the Vincennes City Council Meeting, Mayor Joe Yochum ask Chuck Sebring, Vincennes City Councilman and Legislative Review Committee chairman , to look into creating an ordinance to prevent a monopoly.

For now, Troy’s Towing, Troy’s Towing 1, and Troy’s Towing 2 will remain on the system, but legislation may be on the desk soon, limiting how many towing services a business owner can have on a city rotation at one time.
