Tech Men Computer Services in Loogootee utilizes customer input to build a computer to fit specific needs.
The business offers computer repair, virus clean up, digital clean up, computer diagnostics and custome computer builds.
Owner Alex Blanton took classes to learn more about computers so he can serve customers to the best of his ability.
“I’ve built four or five since (Windows) XP started to go out, and everyone seems completely satisfied with them,” Blanton said.
Blanton said the first step in building a computer for a customer is asking what they use their computer for on a daily basis. Once the use is established, Blanton then begins building the computer in the price range of the customer.
“They (customer) is just as much a part of the build process as we are,” Blanton stressed. “It’s pretty unique because most places just give you a computer and send you out the door. We try to get to know the customer, what they use the computer for and build that around their own personal use so they are not paying extra money for something they don’t need.”
Blanton added a recent addition to the services of Tech Men Computer Repair is cell phone screen replacement. He said while the replacement isn’t a difficult process, it is very tedious work.
Blanton said they are reasonably priced, and they offer services at prices less than most computer repair stores.
“I think at Staple’s it’s $150 to get a virus removed, and we do it for $45,” Blanton noted. “We try to think of our customer base, and not exact profit margins.”
