Icy Roadways Caused Major Travel Problems Across The Area Thursday Night
Snow squalls moved across the area Thursday night causing snow accumulations of up to one inch in some locations. The snow also cause the roadways to become very icy.
Last nights snow showers caused a major travel headache across the area. Law Enforcement officers reported well over 100 slide offs and accidents. No serious accidents were reported from this snow event.
Many of the schools across the coverage area decided to close their door this morning after put their schools on a delays last night because the roads were just to dangerous.
INDOT was out in full force all night, but because of the strong winds, whiteout snow conditions and freezing temperatures it was making it really hard for crews to treat the roadways as what was melting was re-freezing.
There is more snow in the forecast for tonight.
