(Otwell, Indiana) – The body of Kathryn Mcgill was discovered today.
A body was discovered early this afternoon at the site of a missing person investigation that began last December 29th when a vehicle occupied by Adam and Kathryn McGill was swept from State Road 257 at the Pike-Daviess County line into flood waters of the White River. Adam McGill was rescued by nearby hunters, however, Kathryn was unable to be found. The search for her body has continued since the day of the incident.
At approximately 1:45 PM this afternoon, EST, a local resident discovered the body lying on top of some corn stalk debris near the mouth of a creek that feeds into the White River. This area was part of the initial search from last December as the flood waters the vehicle had been swept into, enter the river at this point.
Indiana Conservation Officer’s Operational District 7 HQ was contacted. The Daviess County Coroner’s Office, The Pike County Coroner’s Office, Jefferson Township Volunteer Fire Department, Indiana State Police, and Indiana Conservation Officers arrived at the scene.
The body will be taken to the Vanderburgh County Morgue for examination and identification. An autopsy is scheduled for tomorrow afternoon.
