Bicknell-Vigo Township Library Director Debbie Kean is curious where the other two “reader” statues ended up.

When visiting the Bicknell main branch of the library, the first object patrons will see is a red, metal statue reading a book sitting to the left of the front door on 2nd Street.

Kean said from the information she has received, there were three statues intended for the newly constructed library.

“He built three statues. One was red, one was white and one was blue … There is a white and a blue one that we really would like to be able to find,” she explained.

The statue sitting in front of the library has since been repainted, but library employees are curious of the whereabouts of the other two statues.

“I use this as our logo, ‘The Reader’,” she said.

The Main Branch in Bicknell and Sandborn branch have Easter Egg Hunts scheduled in April.
