Area Hospitals Impose Visitor Restrictions to Fight the Flu Epidemic

The flu keeps getting worse in Indiana.
Both Good Samaritan and Daviess Community Hospital are asking visitors to stay away as they continue to battle the worst flu epidemic in to hit the Tri-State in years.
Hospital officials say they’ve been fighting the flu since December. The youngest victim was 8 months old, the oldest 94 years old.
At Daviess Community Hospital the rules are: 1) No visitors under the age of 16
2) 2 Visitors per patient
3) DO NOT come to the hospital with flu-like symptoms unless you have an appointment or to seek medical care
If you feel you must visit a patient at the hospitals, a mask and hand sanitizer is available for everyone who enters the facilities.
People who have respiratory problems and those who are under 18 are encouraged to stay away and wait until the visitation restrictions have been lifted.
