Area City Named Finalist for Stellar Communities Program

An area city has been named as a finalist for the Stellar Community Program.
Petersburg was named as one of 6 finalists for the honor. The community that is selected as the Stellar Community will receive millions of dollars in funding to help revitalize their downtown community.
Other communities selected as finalists include Angola, Bedford, Frankfort, Richmond, and Wabash.
This is the 3rd year for the program. Greencastle and North Vernon were recipients in 2011 while Princeton and Delphi were recipients in 2012. The project is a joint endeavor between the Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs , the Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority , and the Indiana Department of Transportation.
