Alices Subdue Lions

The Vincennes Lincoln Alices defeated the Loogootee Lions during a varsity baseball game, at Hill Field, on Tuesday, April 15, 2014, in Vincennes, Ind. The Alices scored seven runs and the Lions had three. The Alices put one run across in the bottom of the first, leaving the Lions scoreless in the first and second innings. The Alices would plate four more runs in the second. The third inning was quiet for both teams, while in the fourth and fifth the Lions crept back with one run gaining ground on the Alices making it five to two. The Lions gained one more run in the sixth. The Alices responded by scoring two insurance runs to start the seventh and final inning. The Lions finished with three runs, three hits and three errors. The Alices came away with seven runs of off eight hits and two errors.
Bailey Montgomery, of the Alices, had two hits in four at bats with both hits being doubles. Montgomery also scored one run and had one stolen base against the Lions. Joe Bobe, also of the Alices, had one hit with four appearances blasting in two RBI’s and spring one run. Bobe also had a stolen base. For pitching, Zane Bechman, of the Alices pitched five innings throwing seventy-seven total pitches and forty-five of them being strikes.
The Alices move to 3 and 2 on the season.
