(Vatican City)  –  The wait for a new Pope continues.  For the second time now, black smoke has risen from the chimney of the Sistine Chapel in a sign that after two votes by the cardinals this morning, no candidate has received the two-thirds majority needed to become the new head of the Roman Catholic Church.

The cardinals could vote up to two more times today after taking just one vote yesterday.

Once they succeed in electing a new Pope, white smoke will billow from the Sistine Chapel and bells will toll.
